This past week here at Bachelor Party Bay, we have been having some wild success on the open water. With eight different groups combining for dozens of trips out by our crew.

Patrick and his wife Kelly were the first group to set off on a two-day trip. The first day they had a blast pulling in snapper, grouper, and roosterfish all day long. The second day Patrick fulfilled his lifetime dream of hooking up on a blue marlin. His fish weighed over 600 lbs and fought him for nearly eight hours. Patrick released the fish at the side of the boat, but he definitely kept the story to tell his friends back home.

Matt and Ryan from New York had an equally exhilarating trip, spending three days fishing both Pacific and Gulf-Atlantic coasts. They loved their villa in Los Suenos where they spent their first two days catching a total on 13 marlin. After their two days in Los Suenos, they headed east to Tortuguero for some Atlantic ocean fishing. We tend to get similar success rates on both coasts, but since our clients usually tend to gravitate toward the west coast attractions, we are on the Pacific Ocean the majority of the time. But we enjoyed the opportunity to head out east to see what the Atlantic had to offer. Matt and Ryan went out for a full day off the east coast of Costa Rica and reeled in a total of 14 fish!

The marlin have been making their presence known over the past week and they have been hitting our lines all over the place. A few of our clients this week wanted to fish exclusively for marlin and sailfish. We took three groups out on in search of marlin and sails and ending up pulling 45 marlin between the three boats!

Martin and his friends from Paris, France had a successful trip, heading out for three days in the 58' Hatterras in search of sailfish. Sailfish are one of the most popular target species because their enormous dorsal "sail" is something you have to see to believe. Martin also wanted to see a roosterfish up close and in person. The group was able to haul in 4 roosterfish and 12 sailfish over the course of their trip and they had nothing but great things to say about the time they had.

Our last group was a father and son from Arkansas who were down to enjoy a two-day fishing trip in Golfito where they pulled in 11 sailfish and 2 marlin. After fishing in Golfito, they had so much fun that they wanted to go out on another trip in Jaco which was their next scheduled stop. They enjoyed another full day of fishing in Jaco, and finished their trip with some whitewater rafting, ziplining, and an ATV tour.

What an amazing weekend we have had! We are glad to be able to get some rest but we can't wait to get back out there on the ocean and see what might hit out lines next!
